This wonderful circa 1900 Sweet Grass Pin Cushion Basket is colored with Natural Dyes. I purchased this here in northern New Hampshire. I have seen this style of basket called Shaker, but I believe it to be Native American Indian. Perhaps Penobscot Maine, or Mohawk from New York State.
The basket is in very nice vintage condition and as you can see it was used and loved a lot. The red velvet is very worn. The basket however is good. There is a similar basket to this one in the book, Sewing Tools and Trinkets by Helen Thompson on page. 12. If you key in sweet grass into the search bar at the top right of the page and high light my shop you will see all the sweet grass items I have for sale.

DIMENSIONS: 2 1/8” across bottom X 2 ½” across the top

CONDITION: as noted above the only thing to report is the wear to the velvet.

Payment expected at time of purchase for single item purchases - I would be happy to help set up a layaway plan that works for you and me
