This lovely vintage antler horn carving set with Sterling Ferrel's was made by Landers, Frary - Clark and Aetna circa 1890.Both pieces have silver end caps and a lovely chased ferrel with flowers and leaves. Clearly marked on the ,sterling the knife is maker marked on the flat of the knife. The knife has a good edge and could cut as is, but would take a sharpening and be most use able. The fork has a hand guard which works as designed. Lovely set! The pat. date is July 6,1886, mark is found on fork.
DIMENSIONS: knife is 13 ¼” long fork is 10 5/8” long
CONDITION: the handles seem to have darkened with age. I did not use anything to try to lighten them. I did clean the sterling. The handles MAY lighten up with soft scrub or some product like that if you choose to do so.
