This is a LOVELY Reed and Barton Silver Plate Cache Pot with Enamel Liner. It is fully reticulated and lined with an (not original) enamel pan. It is marked on the bottom Manufactured and plated by, Reed and Barton, There are several numbers 17-8& 2. I am not convinced that the enamel liner is original to the pot but it certainly works. What a lovely piece for year round use. The white enamel liner is marked on the bottom Elite, Austria and 2 other words I cannot make out. This is really a marvelous decorative item.
DIMENSIONS: 4 ¾" tall x 8 ¼" wide across top
CONDITION: The silver plate is good with no plate loss on the outside area. The bottom underside has a couple of small dimples.. pin point size. The inside of the silver does have a small amount of plate loss. There is one very small split in the bottom. Honestly I didn't even see it until I took pictures and said, "what's that?" All of this is in keeping with age and use. The enamel liner has a couple of chips inside and out. It has its original cork stopper in the drain hole.
