We are pleased to present this lovely Victorian English Fob Grecian Style Ewer with Blood Stone Seal. This lovely small fob is such a pretty mold. The belly of the ewer is a floral reposed pattern. The neck and the base are panels of lines. The lid is shaped like a leaf, it does not open. The base it stands on is a tiny piece of blood stone. This is a beautiful little early fob so the fact that it's not marked is not surprising. To my eye and knowledge I believe it's a heavy rolled gold. There is no hint of any silver color or tone, the "gold" finish is good all around. As with every piece of jewelry made in this era there is symbolism. The blood stone was known for it's "cleansing" properties. Then you add an urn. Perhaps this was given to someone who was ill, wishing for better health. But as always maybe the person who owned it, just liked it for its artistic beauty.
DIMENSIONS: 7/8" tall
CONDITION: Lovely condition, no problems noted. It has a jump ring and is ready to use.
