This fun collection of Victorian Hand Towels includes Four towels with Butterflies and Flowers and is Group number 2 in my inventory.I am listing a number of groups of vintage linens. I have so many full boxes, that the only way to sell them before I turn 600 is to do them in groups. Do take a look if your looking for Victorian hand towels, doilies, runners and the like. All of these pieces could use a laundering. I have noted condition on each piece. If you need more photos I will try to do better. Whites are not easy to photograph. I have done my best to describe each piece as to pattern, fabric, size and condition.
This fun group of 4 towels all have colored embroidery embellishment. It includes:
#1 A small huck cotton towel with pots of flowers pink and white with a garland of blue cross stitch joining the pots. The edge is hand crotchet in blue. It measures 20" long x 33" wide. It does have some light yellowing.
#2 White "flat cotton like sheeting fabric. This towel has a garland of flowers both in bud and full bloom and the letter M. It measures 22 ½" long x 16 ½ wide. It does have some light yellowing .
#3 An oatmeal colored towel with a large basket of what look like forget me knots. The scalloped edge is bound in the same color as the basket was done in. It measures 27 ½" long x 17" wide. This towel does have age staining. I do think it will wash up nicely.
#4 A nice huck cotton towel with a large yellow butterfly embroidered on the center front. The towel measures 22 ½" long x 16 ¾" wide. It does have some light staining.
