We are so pleased to offer this fantastic Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver Graduated Bead Necklace. The largest beads are HUGE at just shy of 1". All silver jewelry tooled prior to 1948 had to be stamped; MEXICO-SILVER. This beautiful necklace weighs 127 grams (4 1/2Oz.) and is 27 ½” long. The 3 largest center beads are 22MM or just shy of 1” in diameter. They graduate down from there, the smallest being just shy of ½” in diameter. You can see by these measurements and weight this is not a “SHY” piece of jewelry. They are strung on a silver link chain and close with the signature tongue and slide clasp. After 1948 the Mexican government established a numbered Eagle Stamp for each artist. This marking continued until 1980 at which time a Taxco ID number was established. The Taxco ID number is TR-69. The "T" denoting; TAXCO, the "R" would have been the silversmiths first letter of his or her last name and "69" would signify that this person was the 69th artist registered with the last name starting with an "R". If you have been looking for a once in a lifetime Sterling necklace, you will not be disappointed in this one. It is gorgeous.
