Victorian Hand Painted Purple, White, Yellow Pansies Brass Flue Cover, this is one of my favorite forms of art! These pieces were a needed house hold item at the turn of the last century. In the summer you needed to takes the wood stove pipes out and clean them and cover that “hole in the chimney.” They prevented varmints and cold air from coming into your home and were a way of “artfully decorating” for the summer. This one is a small handful of fresh Pansies resting on a nest of green grass. They are purple, mixed pinks, yellow and white are blossoms in full bloom and bud form. This piece is well painted and a good example of a Sunday painter. You will LOVE this and will not be disappointed. I have several of these covers do invite you to take a look, the last picture shows you my current "collection" DIMENSIONS: ten inches in diameter CONDITION: in very nice vintage condition.
