Fungus Art Painting of Children on Sled Walking up an Icy Road
I recently was lucky to find 3 pieces of early folk fungus art. This one is the largest. The painting is of 2 small children one pulling a sled with another child riding along in the blue (icey) road. Evergreens frame the distances of the painting. The house in the foreground has a rail fence in front and along the road. This art form is something one finds here in the east but rarely does one find 3 good early pieces. I feel confident they were done by the same artist. The 2 larger ones are artist signed. The medium sized one, M. D. Rand, the largest, the one in this listing, the largest, says Great Grand Mother Rand 88 years. The smallest is unsigned.
DIMENSIONS: 8 7/8” wide x 4 ¾” tall
CONDITION: very nice vintage condition.
