Aesthetic Movement Japanese Pattern Cocktail Fork by: Holmes Booth & Haydens
"Japanese" is a pattern designed by: Hiram Hayden in 1879 at the height of the Aesthetic movement. I am always delighted by the geometry of these early patterns. This piece is 135 years old. The fork is silver plate, with a butterfly on the front and bird on the backside. It has multiple patterns on both sides. Not easy to find these great patterns any longer. You could use this with a pickle dish or castor as well as a plate of fresh summer veggies at the table. Lovely and very useful.
DIMENSIONS: 6” long
CONDITION: Very Good Pre-Owned. I have lightly polished it but polishing silver is not my way to zen so it could stand another polishing.
