Circa 1850 Deep Oval Walnut Frame with Full Page Hand Tinted Tin Type
This gorgeous deep walnut frame was made in 4 pieces and put together with tongue and groove cuts. The frame is a bit more than 2” wide and does have a gilt band on the inside. The Matte around the full page tin type is bevel cut with gold gilt on the bevel edge. The back is covered with the original walnut backing that was chamfered. The tin type is of a lovely young woman. Her cheeks have been tinted pink as have her lips. You will not be disappointed in this frame it is a beauty. Frames like this are not as readily found as they once were here in New Hampshire.
DIMENSIONS: 17 ½” x 14 ½” outside measurement x 2” deep
CONDITION: One very tiny nick of a chip on the inside edge in the gilt area. It is at the 9 o clock position. Other than this tiny defect it is gorgeous, ready to hang in your home with pride
