Victorian Gilt Picture Frame with Morning Glories and Leaves framing a Victorian Print of 6 Birds and a Butterfly on a Tree Branch
Finding good old frames used to be so easy. Stacks and stacks of them at every auction. Trust me by the dozens. Not so anymore. Old frames are no longer a dime a dozen, you are lucky if there are 1 or 2 at any given sale. This one is so pretty and simple. One layer all gesso with Morning glories in full bloom connected by their leaves and tendrils. As hard as it is to find frames, finding good ones with great old uncommon prints is even trickier! When we found this framed bird print it was backed with newsprint and a board. We took everything apart and cleaned the frame, glass print and then added acid free foam core. We will paper the back and add wire if you'd like us to. Or just wire so it's read to hang. This really is one of the most endearing prints I've found in some time. It's ready to be a family heirloom for you.
DIMENSIONS: 15 ½” x 11 ¾” total picture area measures 14” x 11 1/4”
CONDITION: The gesso is in good condition all over the frame, save one small chip on the bottom left hand corner. It has blackened in areas, probably due to being packed away and unused. The print is good.
