Pair Japanese Oil Paintings on Watered Moire Silk, Framed Under Glass
This lovely pair of signed paintings are of a stand of Bamboo and a pair of sparrows. The silk is a watered moire in a lovely rich darker gold tone. They were professionally framed. There is not a frame shop tag on this set but I presume they were done at the same Pittsburg, Pa. shop the other set was framed at. I would date the framing to the 1970’s. I simply don’t have a clue how old the paintings themselves are. We have another pair of paintings that came out of the same home in northern Vermont done in the same style on watered silk. They are also hand signed by the same artist. Both of these paintings hang north south. A perfectly decorated home always includes at least one touch of Oriental. (My humble opinion) They are priced as a pair. These were so tricky to get photos of for you. They are so much nicer in person, I assure you.
