14 Kt GF Aesthetic Movement Era Locket with a Fan, Rose and Forget me Not
I recently read this online. This states perfectly how I feel about social media and life in general. “The age of Facebook has ruined our concept of what is secret and private. A great locket can help you regain a sense of decorum and a delight in the unseen. Whose picture are you wearing close? Only you need know. Live Life with Decorum and a Personal Sensibility”
Oh my in the case of this locket, those words are particularly true. The Victorians were so secretive about emotion and said so much to each other without words. The open fan is a sign of Love, the forget me not is a sign of true love and memories, the rose has so many meanings. It depended if it’s in full bloom bud or dried and the color. Most of those categories have love in them somewhere. So all in all this is a loving gift of a locket. Inside we find both of the frames and covers and pictures, 2 young ladies. It snaps closed as intended and has its original “O-ring which is marked 14 Kt GF. This is a beautiful piece of jewelry.
