The size and scale of this most unusual Art Deco amethyst ring makes a dramatic and intriguing statement! A large rectangular-cut amethyst is bezel-set in rose gold and centered in a rectangular octagonal mounting, in yellow gold, which is decorated in a flowing leaf motif on the north and south sides. All the way around the border of the bezel, there are fine rectangles, which are negative space.
The shank and underside are set in rose gold and reveal a substantially backed mounting in fine, polished gold. There are no marks, but it has been assayed for 14k.
The overall mounting measures *approximately 1 5/16” long x 1 1/16” wide. Also measured in inches and measured in the bezel, the central amethyst measures *approximately ¾” long x ½” wide. The ring weighs 13.3 grams and is currently between a size 8 ¼ and 8 ½.
*Approximation is due to the fact that the stone is mounted and exact measurements cannot be taken.
