Beautiful and yummy describe these vintage multi-gem stone pendant earrings. Set with a delicious combination of rutilated quartz, faceted peridot and citrine and cabochon amethyst, this ‘fruit bowl’ of gems is a captivating combination for earrings.
All stones are bezel set and there us a substantial feeling to the earrings. The bottom pieces of rutilated quartz are beautifully matched for size and cut and exhibit an interesting pattern of rutilation. Bringing color and life to the earrings is the attractive combination of green peridot and amber-colored citrines and cabochon amethysts at the posts.
Designed and fabricated in the 1970’s, these earrings reflect a particular period in jewelry design where stones were bezel set with complimentary and contrasting gems. A bit bold yet light and airy in look and feel, one doesn’t see anything quite like these on the market today.
Approximate measurements include: 1 ¾” in length x ½” in width, at the widest point. In the bezel, the rutilated quartz measures *approximately ¾” in length x 5/8” in width. The approximate diameter of the cabochon amethyst post, in the bezel, is ½.”
The earrings weigh 11.2 grams without the backings.
