This outstanding art nouveau garnet ring features a beautiful faceted oval garnet in a bezel setting in the center and on either end, matching faceted round garnets, also in bezel settings, complete the attractive, elongated stone design.
Garnet comes from the Latin word, “Garanatus,” meaning “seedlike;” this reference is to the pomegranate, an association which makes sense since the rich, luscious deep red color of many almadine garnets definitely resembles the bright red seeds we find inside a pomegranate. The stones in this ring are deeply rich in warmth and color.
These beautifully matched garnets are set in this impressive mounting which symbolizes the art nouveau period. The pretty flower blossoms, in yellow gold, appear to emerge from elongated, gently engraved leaves that seem to grow upward from the shoulders. It is interesting that the flower blossoms look like they are in green gold in the company of the rose gold.
The center garnet measures *approximately 15mm x 8mm from the inside of the bezel. The approximate diameter measurement of the round garnets is 5mm. The overall length of the ring is approximately 33mm x 20mm. The 20mm width measurement is from shoulder to shoulder. Indeed, these measurements reveal a dramatic piece of jewelry!
This extraordinary ring is surely one-of-a-kind. It is both dramatic and beautiful, striking and lovely, impressive and important. It is for the one who wants to make a bold and radiant statement!
Please view the underside of the ring to appreciate how well it is made and to note the “14k” tab. Currently, the ring is size 7 ¼.” Gram weight is 6.2.
*approximation is due to the fact that the stones are mounted and exact measurements cannot be obtained.
