A supreme example of excellent workmanship, this Victorian Scottish Agate shield is seamlessly set with different pieces of agate and a center piece of faceted amber colored glass. The open-worked silver top of the sword is visible on the top and, on the bottom, one sees the end of the sword. The complete sword exists behind the shield.
In the center are six (6) engraved, decorative silver adornments set at the ends of the grey-lace agate and orange jasper stones. In the center of this, we see the amber colored faceted glass stone.
The diameter of the shield measures *approximately 1 13/16” and the length measures approximately 2 7/8.” On the back, there is a small loop which was probably attached to a security chain.
Gross weight is 33 grams.
