Five layers of petals open up around a diamond cluster in this striking mid-20th century clip brooch. In the center an *approximately 0.30 carat round-brilliant diamond, HIJ/VS-SI, is surrounded by ten (10) 0.03 carat single cut diamonds, a perfect center piece for the lovely drama of the petals opening ever wider. Estimated total diamond weight: 0.60 carats.
The gold petals have a very fine textured finish which gives the appearance of satin. Adding to the dimensional quality of this striking piece, he edges are highly polished, an effect which creates light around each row of petals. The combination of the satin finish and a narrow band of light from the polished surface is beautiful and very effective.
Looking at the reverse side of this clip brooch, one can see how very well made it is. At the top of the clip, it is marked “14k 585.”
The diameter of this beauty measures 2 1/4.” Easier to measure in millimeters, the depth, from the table of the center diamond to the underside of the pin in the clip, the approximate measurement is 18mm.
This piece weighs 37 grams.
