This desirable Victorian Scottish frame embodies so much of the style and design elements of the period with the use of native agate stones set in engraved sterling silver. The anchor motif for this frame is wonderfully executed, with engraved designs used in the period. In Queen Victoria’s reign, the anchor is the symbol of hope.
An easel is fitted on the back so the frame can stand alone. From top to bottom, it measures 3” and at the widest point, it measures 1 ¾”. The diameter of the frame in the silver mount is 1 ¼.”
The center is easily, gently pushed through to release it and to add a photo of one’s choice. It is a nice fit in the frame. This piece is a perfect addition to any frame collection, any collection of Scottish memorabilia or jewelry, Victoriana and/or it is a charming, attractive and interesting period piece from late 19th century.
The original patina is untouched.
