This unusual antique Victorian 14k gold pendant watch pin features a wolf rampant in an openwork foliate design bordered by a field of rich, blue enamel that holds a sparkling mine-cut diamond three leaf clover. The entire piece is framed in creamy, lustrous cultured pearls with larger accent pearls at the north, south, east and west points on the pendant. No doubt a family crest, this is a fine quality piece with a flip bail and a clever convertible mechanism that allows the pin stem and watch hook to be unscrewed and removed as needed. The piece measures 1 3/16” in diameter and weighs 10.3 grams of 14k gold (assayed.) The three lively clover diamonds measure approx. 1.9mm each and there is a very tiny rose cut diamond that lends a sparkle to the eye of the wolf. In very good antique condition, this piece has an antique patina and the gold has a slightly rosy hue. This rare crest jewel is ready to be worn on a chain around the neck or to grace the lapel of a favorite jacket or hat. Whatever color is worn behind it will shine through the open foliate design, creating a beautiful backdrop for this exquisite jewel!
