This antique Victorian mechanical watch fob has a four pane bloodstone window set in a 14k gold brick wall, which opens up to reveal a locket! On the back is a blank piece of sardonyx, which could easily be personalized with initials or a crest. The workmanship on this piece is fantastic and the subject matter is rare and unusual.
The window, without bail or O ring, measures 1 1/8" by 3/4" by 3/8". The fob has been assayed as 14k gold and our jeweler believes that the hinges are platinum, but the location and size makes testing difficult so we opted not to verify this. Total weight is 16.4 grams. Depressing the small lever on the bottom while holding the locket window side down unlocks the window, allowing gravity to open it.
The novelty of this antique locket fob is so appealing that it's bound to be a conversation piece!
