Reminiscent of a harp, this lovely Edwardian style brooch pendant from the 1930's is set with diamonds that sparkle and dance, as if vibrating on string's lightly plucked by a musician's hands. This platinum topped 18k gold brooch is set with just over one carat total weight of brilliant-cut diamonds. Open and elegant, this piece emanates a wonderful light and airy feeling. The design is harmonious and well balanced, with the lower two articulated pieces capturing light as they move. Textured, yellow gold vertical bars add interest and contrast. Measuring 2 3/16" from the top diamond to the bottom diamond and 1 1/2" at the widest point, this piece has a substantial, yet graceful presence. The weight is 12.7 grams and condition is excellent. There are no marks to note, but the metals have been assayed as platinum and 18k gold. Versatile in that it can be worn both as a brooch or a pendant, suspended either from a yellow gold chain or a platinum and diamond one, this piece offers the wearer many options. Although made at a later time, this luminous and feminine vintage jewel captures the essence of the Edwardian period.
