This exciting designer ring features a luscious pink tourmaline in a sophisticated mounting. The pink tourmaline is bezel set in 18k yellow gold, to bring out the warmth in the stone, and set in a black matte finished sterling silver mounting. It is a dramatic and beautiful piece of jewelry and undoubtedly one of a kind.
The yellow gold swirls and patterns which decorate the black background around the stone and down the shoulders represent a lively and attractive design. A small round brilliant-cut diamond is set on the top and on the bottom for just a touch of sparkle and light.
This beautiful pink tourmaline measures *approximately 10 x 8.2 x 4.9mm and weighs *approximately 2.30 carats. The interior of the ring is signed by the artist, Alishan, a jewelry designer who combines his rich backround in drawing, scultpture and furniture design. His pieces are identified by his eclectic mix of textures, techniques and cultural refernces, a winning combination that results in fresh, unique and beautiful jewelry! A copyright symbol is there along with 925 (for sterling silver) and 750 (for 18k gold). There is some wear on the finish of the ring, particularly down at the bottom of the shank but this is to be expected. I have seen other similarly oxidized and treated white metals where the treatment has worn off to a soft sheen on the silver. In this case, the overall impact and look of the ring is unaffected by this. It is unlikely that the patina will wear off on the top or sides of the ring because these surfaces are not subjected to the same wear patterns as the bottom of the shank.
The rich pink color of this delicious gem seems to benefit from the mixed metal mounting giving an overall exotic and rich appearance. This piece is so fresh and exceptional; I was immediately struck by it!
On the mandrel, the ring falls just over 9 1/2-just under 10. Because it is in sterling silver, sizing should not be a problem. In grams, it weighs 13.9.
*approximation is due to the fact that the stone is mounted and exact measurements and weights can not be determined.
