Delicate, yet with a substantial presence, this feminine antique Edwardian negligee pendant features three amethysts mounted in finely crafted cannetille and adorned with seven small pearls. The cannetille creates a light and airy lacy effect while the purple amethysts provide a pop of luscious color.
The amethysts weigh approx. 12.3cttw and the largest stone has a few small fleabites, visible under magnification. The mounting is 14k gold fill, with an antique patina and some slight loss to the finish. The small pearls are a mixture of natural and cultured. The pendant portion of the necklace measures 2 7/8” top to bottom and the largest portion at the top is 1” wide. The chain around the neck measures 15 3/4” and the addition of the pendant increases it to about 16 1/2”. The piece weighs 6.5 grams.
Excellent craftsmanship is apparent in this beautiful antique necklace and the design is such that a delightfully enticing pendular motion is created with each movement of the body, no doubt intended to draw ones eye to the décolletage.
