A rare find, this antique Victorian ring features a faceted oval vivid pink sapphire of the most luscious color, flanked on either side by large mine-cut diamonds. The sapphire is appox. 3.20ct and the diamonds are approx. 0.80ct HI/SI1 and 0.85ct HI/I2 respectively, for a total diamond weight of 1.65ct. The mounting has been assayed as 18k yellow gold. All stones are prong-set in a pretty scallop design and the shoulders display beautiful beaded design work with the opposing sides finely textured in a reverse-bead motif. The ring is between a size 6 3/4 and 7, and weighs 6.8 grams. In very good antique condition, the stones are all original from the Victorian period, c. 1880-1890. This spectacular antique ring would make a superb non-traditional wedding ring as well as a powerful right-hand ring.
