A dozen Art Nouveau style maidens, one more beautiful than the next, encircle the wrist in this substantial vintage 14k yellow gold and diamond slide bracelet. Each slide is unique, featuring a different woman, some more impressionistic and others highly detailed. There is one woman with birds, one playing a harp, some are wearing hats or ribbons, and all have beautiful, flowing hair. The bracelet has a three-dimensional effect, in that some of the maidens rise off of the slide as if sculpted and others are more flush with the slide, having only a slightly raised design. One of the center most slides is the most three-dimensional and has a gap between the top and bottom of the slide, which is original to its manufacture, due to the fact that the face is larger than the base. Each maiden is accented with a small single-cut diamond with a total weight of approx. 0.14ct. The slides are strung on two gold chains, which allows the slides some range of motion, and there are two round gold bead spacers between each slide.
The bracelet measures 7 7/8” long by 3/4” wide at the widest point. Total weight is a hefty 67 grams and there is a 14k mark on the clasp and the slides have been additionally assayed. This bracelet is in very good vintage condition, with a patina one would expect from a previously owned piece. This slide bracelet is of rare design and you will be enamored of both its beauty and substantial construction.
