Crafted in sterling silver and replete with multi-colored enamel scales, these exceptional Margot de Taxco earrings are so much fun! Designed as screw back earrings the snakes dangle head down with forked tongues extended. The subtle shades of green, blue, yellow, and orange enamel reveal the palette of a true artist. Brought back as a souvenir from Mexico in the mid 1950's, one earring bears the mark 5554 Margot de Taxco. The snake heads alone measure 1 1/4" by 13/16". The total length of each earring is 2" and the weight for the pair is 26.2 grams. In good vintage condition, there is some enamel loss, which is evident in the photos. Renowned for her enamel work, these earrings are a wonderful example of the fine craftsmanship of Margot de Taxco.
