This lovely and quintessential Boucheron compact is gem-set with rubies and decorated with openwork cut-out designs of flowers and leaves in rose gold and sterling silver. The rest of the case is a solid, sterling engine-turned design. Fitting very nicely in the palm of one’s hand and feeling great when held, the compact measures just under 2 1/4"W X 3"L not including the clasp .
This classy compact weighs 172.7 grams. With the ribbed gold clasp, it easily snaps open to reveal 2 compartments. Two covers open cleverly by pulling gently towards the hinge; if one puts both thumbs on the top and gently pulls the tops towards the hinge, the top cover opens to reveal a mirror and the bottom cover opens to reveal an empty compact. The inside top is marked BI No 8 75012 and BOUCHERON PARIS. There are three French touch marks in the interior. Showing normal wear from age and use, the overall condition of the case is great with one exception: the interior mirror is cracked; however, when viewing the case from the closed top, it is barely noticeable even to one who knows it is there.
