This rare and decorative child’s nursery ware mug was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1820. The mug features a monochrome transfer printed design with text reading ‘Joseph.’ Each side of the mug features a little boy, one is holding a kite and the other is hoop rolling. Hoop rolling was a popular activity for children during the first half of the 19th century. This is the only example of this font that we have seen making this perfect for a nursery ware collector or anyone with a special Joseph in their life.

Measuring: Width including handle 3 3/8 inch (8.5 cm) by height 2 1/8 inch (5.5 cm).

Condition: A few minor fleabites to interior rim. The three marks to foot rim are from where the mugs were stacked in the kiln.
