A very sweet and charming survivor from the 1910 to 1920 period. This very small, 100 year old chap was produced in Germany by the largest toy producer in Europe at this time, namely Gebrüder Bing. This company was a top toy maker, known for both the quality and variety of their stuffed and mechanical toys.

This handsome boy, who we have named 'Winston' - through no fault of his own is now looking for a quiet retirement home. He has served his manufacturer well, fulfilled his purpose of entertaining small children for over 100 years. He is now hoping for loving owners who can over look and accept his battle worn appearance, providing a safe, child free environment for the remainder of his days.

This line of toys were known as Trippel Trappel toys due to their ability to be rolled along on their moveable legs using an inner wheeled mechanism to their legs. Our chap has his original metal legs with original wheels inside. He has his original straw stuffed body, and head which is covered in its original (once) white felt with black patch over his one eye and ear. He has retained his original boot button eyes, black stitched nose and tail. But bless him, he is showing battle scars and is purely for display. See images and condition report below.

Size: 5 1/2 inches tall (14 cm) by 7 inch long nose to tip of tail (18 cm).

Condition: Sadly poor, definitely for display only as Winston has been in the wars during the past 100 years. Please STUDY our many images, please do not purchase him if you do not like condition issues. He does not have his original Bing collar with litho tin ID tag replaced with beige ribbon. As you can clearly see from our images his woolen felt body has been historically eaten by ravenous moths who adore nothing better than chomping wool!! These many scattered areas now show his inner straw stuffing. A string loop has been inserted in his rear neck, presumably to attach a leash. One of his front legs has been too strongly pulled by an overzealous child to expose a protruding metal bionic looking ball joint. This joint is safely attached but shown at its worse for the photos. His walking pull along mechanism is NOT WORKING, his moveable legs are stiff.
