One of our favorite little Georgian child or toy size treasures at the moment is this sweet hand decorated, very refined pearlware plate. Of small proportions and finely potted and molded, this little plate is hand decorated in a pratt ware palette of ochre, green and very dark blue. Unmarked as was so common at this 1800 to 1820 period in England.
This super little plate will make a fine addition to your early folk art collection. Display opportunities are endless, we show it with some early pratt ware and Staffordshire figures. But we can easily imagine it displayed in front of your favorite miniature sampler, or doll.
Size: 4 1/2 inch diameter
Condition: Very good with a very faint and perfectly stable hairline to the underside. Difficult to photograph but we hope that you can see it. The indent near the border at 6 o'clock happened in the kiln firing 200 years ago and is part of its unique charm.
