An absolutely delicious little item of English pottery for your shelf or hutch, we guarantee that you will LOVE it......

This 19th century child's transferware nursery plate was made in England during the 1800 to 1820 period. Children’s nurseryware plates and mugs were made by many of the Staffordshire potteries during the 19th century. For the first time Children became a 'marketing' group in their own right, these pottery objects to be given as educational aids, or gifts/rewards for good children. They make for a fascinating collecting field as their subject matter is vast ranging from personalized gifts for a special named child to moral, biblical, caricature and humorous, flowers and animals, rhymes and verses, commemorative, political/satirical, entertainments, etc, etc, etc......They work wonderfully well when displayed with folk art or samplers.

This plate features a hand coloured Adam Buck inspired transfer printed design depicting a young mother sitting on a Madame Recamier pose on her chaise lounge with her child stood in front of her reading or reciting. The plate also features the most decorative moulded floral border which is hand decorated in Prattware colours. This charming piece will display excellently in any collection. The perfect item for anyone who loves nursery ware, transfer ware or Georgian era English pottery.

Measuring: Diameter 6.75 inch (17 cm).

Condition: Tiny fleabite to foot rim, we are talking TINY.
