This charming little nursery ware plate was produced circa 1830. This little plate features a transfer printed design depicting a farmer and milk maid taking a short rest out in the fields. The scene has some wonderful little details, notice the shepherd's sheep, and the maid's yolk and milk pails. The most unusual thing about this lovely plate is the fantastic raised border! We see a dog chasing a cat, then the cat chasing the dog. Our favourite feature is the girl playing with her pet monkey. This is just so unusual and so interesting. What a fabulous gift this would make.

Reference: Plate 607 and 620 in ‘Gifts for good children’ by Noel Riley.

Measuring: Diameter 5.75 inch (14.5 cm).

Condition: Several shallow, old historic chips to rim, clearly seen in our images. Some minor surface grazes to centre of the plate.

Shipping: FREE Tracked postage to USA, UK and Australia/NZ.
