This little watercolor portrait will melt your heart, it is an absolute cutie. What life lay ahead for this sweet little one??
This charming watercolor portrait miniature of a child was painted in England during the 19th century, circa 1835. The painting features an infant captured in profile view.
This exceptionally wonderful watercolor is on paper and is housed behind its original old flat glass in its original birds eye maple frame. This is a delightful little painting that will display excellently; we absolutely love the frame which really compliments that painting. There is a very old indecipherable ink inscription to the back for the frame. The painting was purchased as one of a pair, each sold separately.
Measuring: Frame width 5.5 inch (14 cm) by height 6.5 inch (16.5 cm). Aperture width 3 inch (7.5 cm) by height 4 inch (10 cm). Images 2 onward taken in natural English daylight.
Condition: Minor bumps to top corners of veneer, some light areas of toning/foxing to paper. A small hole in the paper to the right of the little one's head.
