Oooh, this is a favorite of ours at the moment. He is so handsome and we adore his uniform. This is a stunning, small portrait from the Napoleonic Wars era waiting to enhance your period wall.
This wonderful profile portrait of a gentleman was painted in England during the early 19th century, circa 1810. Slightly larger than a miniature, this wonderful genuine 1810 portrait features an officer of the British Army wearing the traditional military dress of the day. He is seen wearing a red tunic with a high black wool collar; we love the attention to detail to the fringed gold epaulets. The watercolor portrait is on paper and is housed behind glass. The frame is a modern, antique style frame that is totally sympathetic to the antique portrait. As said, this is one of our favourite recent acquisitions which is ready to hang. This is the perfect item for anyone who has a passion for military history or is looking for a country house artwork for their home.
