We adore this papier-mache shoulder head doll by an unknown maker. She has a fantastic look. She would be super displayed alongside folksy Americana antiques, or even better given a body.

Due to the lightness of the moulded papier mache we would say produced circa 1914 to 1920 and German in origin. She is not perfect and is sold as seen with historic touch ups/over-painting - please study our images and read the condition section below. She is similar to earlier Greiner/Sonneberg/ Lerch & Lag, unbreakable dolls. She has some indecipherable impressed lettering to the base rear shoulder plate.

This shoulder head measures a very large 6 inch tall. She is made from a light weight moulded composition/papier mache material. She has centrally parted hair with moulded short curls. She has painted blue eyes, brown brows and closed mouth with red lips. She has three holes front and back to secure her to a body.

Size: 6" by 5.5" by 3.5"

Condition: Sold as seen. She looks great, but on close inspection some of her face and features show historic, sympathetic over-painting. Her medium brown hair appears not to be her original hair color as a few patches have flaked away to expose the original factory dark brown underneath. With an eyeglass - fine, better feathered dark brows can also be seen under her existing brows. Her lips also possibly have been touched up. None of this is a recent over-paint. There is a fine and stable hairline crack from the tip of her collar bone to under her hairline, this is very difficult to find, mentioned for accuracy and it does not go through to the interior.
