An oh so pretty little pottery plate from your toy room or nursery. This small delight was produced circa 1830 in the Staffordshire area of England. Of small proportions this dinky plate has many appealing features. Its scalloped Rococo shape with pink metallic lustre edge, its high relief border with very appealing motifs of a bird in the branch and an exotic bird, and a very detailed butterfly. To the centre we see a dark sepia transferware scene depicting a bird among roses. This little beauty has no maker's mark as was common at this time.

Size: 4.75" (12 cm) diameter.

Condition: Some minor rubbing to the inner lustre edge. One old 0.5" hairline to the outer rim at 5.30 o'clock.

A treat for the eyes, have fun choosing where to display it.
