A stunningly beautiful and tiny little silk needlecase from the first half of the 19th century. This early Victoria delight is SOOO delicious in this striped pink silk colorway, most likely made from a French woven silk ribbon. Offered in very good condition, this antique sewing accessory has been treasured. Complete with wool needle holder with meticulous pink stitchery to identify the original owners favorite needle sizes which were D (darning), 6, 7, 8 , 9, 10 and 12, all filled with their original needles. When unrolled, we find a small inner compartment at one end and at the other end a four sided pin keep containing 1" long steel, factory made pins.

This is a delicious antique confection in the pink and purple stripes. Perfect for a special sewing tool accessory collection.

Size: Closed 1.75" (5 cm) by 2.25" (6 cm), Unfolded 13" (33.5 cm)

Condition: All good and sound. Minor surface age discoloring to the silk body as one would expect. The tiny mother of pearl button lacks its silk thread securer to the top flap (a simple fix for a competent stitcher).
