This absolutely stunning plate was produced by Coalport in England during the 19th century, circa 1815. The lobed shape plate features one of the nicest hand painted patterns we have seen. The pattern depicts a variety of exotic birds among a rural setting, with ruins and houses in the background. The centerpiece of the plate depicts a vibrant, detailed hand painted floral spray. We love the cobalt blue ground with the extensive gilt floral decoration. At the top of the plate we find a family crest featuring a boars head above the letter ‘M’.
This is an ornate piece of porcelain produced as part of a service for a wealthy family. It must have taken many hours to decorative this fine piece by hand. This is the perfect plate for anyone who collects rare and quality pieces. This plate will display excellently in any setting.
