An interesting little antique item for your collection. An original 19th century hand cut steel corkscrew of peg and worm design. In good, all original working condition. A super little late Georgian gift for a wine connoisseur.
Corkscrews of this design began to be produced in the early 1800 period. The worm is the upper grooved coil section (Helix) with suspension hole in the top for placing the peg through to uncork. When not in use and for safe storage, the peg is the bottom section that passes through the coil for a good twist tight closure.
Size: Just under 3.5 inch (8.7 cm) when closed
Condition: Good clean original condition with a lovely age soft patina.
Shipping: Free air registered to mainland US and EU.
