This beautiful watercolor painting was produced in England during the 19th century, in the year 1828. The painting depicts an idyllic scene synonymous with the English countryside, two Pheasants foraging for food. The artist has perfectly captured the behavior and the plumage of the male and female Pheasants. The painting is so crisp and was clearly painted by a talented artist.
The painting is signed by the artist at the bottom of the paper reading ‘Smith 1828’. The painting is housed behind old glass in its original wood frame complete with its original, decorative marbled card mount. This makes for the most perfect combination. Whoever framed and mounted the painting has certainly done it justice, a traditional antique English artwork from the Georgian era.
