This wonderful rust/burnt orange colored velvet Rugby honours cap was produced in Great Britain during the year 1924. The cap was awarded to a player from the Welsh Civil Service during an international Rugby tournament, hence the initials ‘WCS’, therfore only a small, limited number of the caps would have ever existed.
This is a rare item and a real conversation piece, the perfect item for anyone interested in Rugby or British sporting history. These early rugby union caps are now highly collectible. This is a unique opportunity to own such a decorative example.
Measuring: Small, measuring approximately diameter 7.25 inch (19 cm).
Condition: A super velvet colorway. Minor separation to the threading of the interior commensurate with age. Slight age related fading/darkening to the velvet. Missing the gold tassel.
