This decorative handmade model of a blanket box was produced in England during the late 19th early 20th century, circa 1890 to 1920. This is a classic piece of English furniture, we love the hand carved detailing to the front of the box. This well made storage box opens via a hinged lid to reveal a two part inner compartment, perfect for storing your favourite items or dolls clothing and accessories. The craftsmen who produced the piece was clearly very talented, we love little wooden peg dowel joints which can be seen at either end of the box. The base of the box features a label reading ‘Made in England’. Made in a bygone age when quality counted.
This is a quality item that will display excellently, the perfect accessory for a larger doll. Please see our collection of 18th and 19th century art and antiques listed separately in our store.
Measuring: Width 7.5 inch (19 cm) by height 3.25 inch (8.5 cm). Height 3 3/8 inch (8.5 cm).
Condition: Good and strong. The lid and one end is a little dry and possibly watermarked, losing some of its shine from too many cups of tea being made for dolly over the years.
