This lovely portrait of a young lady was produced in England during the early 19th century, circa 1830. The wonderful watercolor portrait features a young lady sitter in profile view. We love the way the artist has painted the ringlet curls framing her face and the parted hair drawn back in a bun. We also love the her white silk dress with sloping shoulders, narrow upper arm and very full lower arm. She also wears opulent red coral drip earrings. The artist was clearly very talented employing the use of light pencil shading and colored to add in the finest of tones.
The painting is housed behind old glass in a recently reduced in size 19th century veneer frame (cut down from a larger period frame). This is such a fine little painting, it will display excellently in any surround. This is the perfect portrait for anyone who loves all things Georgian.
