This is a wonderful, 100% GENUINE (not a modern reproduction) French Empire style photo frame. This small beauty was produced in France during the 19th century, circa 1880. This gilt ormolu frame has been produced to an excellent standard. The inner frame features a pale dusky/peachy pink silk moire covered aperture with gilt detailed motifs including wreaths, game birds and a delightful oval motif. The photograph can easily be changed via the rear central four prong mechanism. We have included a modern print from a magazine that we feel suited the opulent frame but of course have fun choosing your own.
This is a classical, timeless antique accessory that will display excellently in any home. It is the perfect size and color way - not too big, not too small.
Measuring: Frame width 5 3/8 inch (14 cm) by height 6 5/8 inch (17 cm). Aperture width 2.25 inch (6 cm) by height 3.5 inch (9 cm).
Condition: This is a genuine 200 plus year old example it will show signs of age. There is some gentle fading and light age staining to the silk and the odd tiny perforation to the silk. All perfectly acceptable for this original antique faded grandeur item.
