This decorative Georgian era watercolor painting dates to circa 1825 and is of timeless appeal. The accomplished botanical painting on 1825 dated Whatman paper features a spray of English Viola flowers. This all original watercolor painting is housed under old bubbled glass and set within an attractive period stained pine frame. It is the quintessential item to complete your country house look.
Measuring: Frame 9.25" (23.5 cm) by 7.25” (18.5 cm). Aperture 6.5” (17 cm) by 4.75” (12 cm).
Condition: The watercolor is in good clean condition. There is some minor undulation to the paper where it has been pasted to another sheet of whatman paper. The frame has a SUPER dry patina and coloring. It is in good sound condition with just some minor surface wear to the very edges. As the glass was VERY dirty we did open this watercolor to clean the glass, hence noticing the dated 1825 paper.
