We are excited to offer this beautiful Georgian era toy doll size Spode porcelain Jug. This circa 1821 jug is of teeny miniature proportions; imagine the skill required to manufacture on such a tiny scale!! The piece has excellent translucency. This fine jug has been produced to the highest quality. It is decorated in pattern 3157; miniatures in this pattern were most likely commissioned by a wealthy family for their adored child.

The lavish pattern features extensive buttery gilt decoration with finely hand painted pink and white floral Apple blossom upon a pure white porcelain ground. The level of detail is astonishing for such a tiny piece. The jug is clearly marked to the base with iron red script ‘Spode 3157’. This pattern was only used for miniature pieces used in the Dejeuner Paris Toy tea set produced in 1820 – 1821. Miniature pieces were a sign of wealth and good taste, they were extremely expensive.

This is the perfect item for anyone who collects rare early English porcelain, as it will make a luxury addition to a doll house or perhaps a luxury accessory for a VERY special doll. Please see our two other pieces from this same service, each priced separately. We adore miniature porcelain from the Regency/ Georgian era please view our collection of miniatures listed in our store.

Measuring: Measuring: Width including handle 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) by height 1 5/8 inch (4.2 cm).

Condition: The handle has been broken in the distant past and then professionally restored.
