This delightful little eglomise box was produced in France during the early 19th century, circa 1820. The box is constructed from boxwood and features a screw top lid with a pressed brass bezel. The lid itself features a decorative hand painted eglomise scene of a rural country house in sepia tones. This is a quality, decorative little item with a more unusual hand painted scene. This item will display excellently in any setting, working particularly well with folk art Treen or antique wooden toys.
