An endearing little 19th century papier mache doll with the most beautiful little face. She has stunning blue swirl glass eyes, multi-stroke painted blonde brows and rose painted lips. She has the shortened remains of her real blonde mohair . She is unmarked but all the signs point to a German origin. She has a papier mache shoulder- head with composition arms and legs attached to her stiff linen cloth wrapped wood straw filled torso. She wears her original muslin and lace under chemise. Her coral peach colored linen dress would appear as perhaps a later addition. Sorry the little coral colored bead necklace is not included.
Please study our many images and zoom in, these images form a vital part of the description.
Size: 12.5" tall
Condition: We have not cleaned this doll. She has a small crack to the painted papier mache seen to her right eye corner. She has a small crack to the surface again between her right eye corner and her ear but this is hidden by her hair. She has a repaired back shoulder plate. Two toes have flaked paint on her right foot. Her right arm has received new muslin to the top where it is attached to her body.
A very sweet little gal who we have called Ruby, she is patiently waiting for a new guardian. Ruby will not disappoint.
