This beautiful, hand carved Italian conch dates to the Edwardian period circa 1900 to 1920. This large conch shell features the most wonderful, detailed hand carved oval cameo depicting The Three Graces. The Three Graces were the three daughters of Jupiter (or Zeus in Greek mythology) and companions to the Muses. The daughters are named Thalia (youth and Beauty), Eurphrosyne (mirth) and Aglaia (elegance).
This is a decorative antique item that will display excellently in a beach house or bathroom setting.

Condition: Some minor nibbles to the surface in a few places. 1 inch historic surface chip to the underside of the opening to the conch, there is an old professionally repaired 1 inch section to the conch.
